In collaboration with Long Chim at the State Buildings venue in Perth, Identity Perth undertook the design and creation of the fourth volume of the cocktail menu, titled ‘The Lone Traveller.’ This project aimed to celebrate the rich history of Sukhothai, transporting patrons to a bygone era while embracing the essence of Thai dynasties.

The Lone Traveller draws inspiration from Sukhothai, a city entrenched in the heritage of 13th-century Thai dynasties. The name itself, Sukhothai, translates to ‘dawn of happiness,’ reflecting the warmth and simplicity deeply rooted in the region. The narrative is woven around ancient temples that defy time, symbolizing an everlasting evolution. The menu seeks to connect patrons to this historical tapestry, providing an immersive experience that resonates with the life tourist tradition.

To enhance the visual appeal and uniqueness of the fourth volume, Identity Perth crafted intricate hand-drawn style illustrations for each cocktail. These illustrations not only serve as a visual delight but also evoke a sense of craftsmanship and authenticity. To reinforce the connection to tradition and history, the design team opted for an old-style book look and feel for the menu. This choice not only adds a touch of nostalgia but also aligns seamlessly with the theme of a lone traveller exploring the timeless beauty of Sukhothai.

The fourth volume of The Lone Traveller has become a distinctive addition to Long Chim’s repertoire. Patrons not only enjoy a diverse range of meticulously crafted cocktails but also embark on a visual and narrative journey through Sukhothai’s history. The hand-drawn illustrations and old-style book aesthetics contribute to a memorable and immersive dining experience, reinforcing Long Chim’s commitment to providing more than just a menu—it’s an exploration of culture and tradition.
